What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of plant essential oils for therapeutic purposes. Body massage with the oils blended in a carrier oil is the most popular application of aromatherapy.
Benefits of aromatherapy
Essential oils are readily absorbed into the body via the skin and lungs and are believed to affect the body on all levels, physically, mentally and emotionally. An aromatherapy massage helps to soothe muscular tension and improve circulation, a treatment can be either deeply relaxing or uplifting depending on the oils and massage techniques used. People choose aromatherapy massage to enhance well-being, manage or cope with specific physical, mental or emotional problems, or as a means of relaxation.
What to expect on your first treatment
Your first treatment includes a free consultation. Essential oils appropriate to your individual needs will then be blended into a carrier oil and applied to your skin as part of a massage treatment. The areas treated will be your personal preferences, typically a full body massage, or neck, back and shoulder massage, with towels used to protect your modesty.
